OK..."su" works to get me access to the file i needed. Edited the file
to the settings i have used for another linux device, still no luck.
Have used the Hidden SSID enabler app to see would that help, still no
luck.I noticed when the wireless is in range, it seems to edit the
file itself to have a line with "disabled = 1" in it!!. when i am not
near the wireless that line isn't there...is there any way to suppress
this line from appearing?

Thanks,

David
