First, let me say I am impressed with Angstrom. I had been using pdaXrom since I got my 3100 (replacing a 5500), but was frustrated with a number of bugs and the difficulty in upgrading. Tried to upgrade to the latest pdaXrom, but had a miserable time.
Decided to try Angstrom, and was blown away by the fact that: 1) the installation instructions actually worked, and 2) so did most of the programs. That last one is leading me here, though. I use this machine as my sole connection to the net when traveling, so I need a full-featured browser and e-mail client. In fact, I really, really want firefox and thunderbird. I see that you have sylpheed, which I used to use, but I really prefer thunderbird. Problem is, neither of these work. Firefox (firefox_2.0.0.3-r1_armv5te.ipk) ends up segfaulting after printing the following to the console: WARNING: NS_ENSURE_TRUE(NS_SUCCEEDED(rv)) failed, file nsChromeRegistry.cpp, line 1252 Thunderbird (thunderbird_1.0.7-r0_armv5te.ipk), similarly, WARNING: NS_ENSURE_TRUE(NS_SUCCEEDED(rv)) failed, file nsINIParser.cpp, line 51 Illegal instruction Initially I thought the problem was that gnome-vsf-dbus was not properly installed. BTW, I could not install that using the feed, it complained that the server wasn't found. So I downloaded it, uninstalled gnome-vfs , then managed a clean re-install of both. Nevertheless, that did not change anything. I get the same problem as regular user and within a root shell. I am trying now to install the development versions. Maybe that will be better, but I am just guessing. I checked with bugzilla, and the firefox problem is there, with no replies. I will post the thunderbird problem and a meto on firefox, but am hoping for help here. I know I can use sylpheed instead, but prefer not to. I see no real alternative for firefox, since I need a browser that can deal with my bank web site. Thanks for the help, and for the great distribution.
