I've been working on a stand-alone cross-platform version of the Animata playback system (not editing GUI) for live interaction using libcinder - http://libcinder.org .
It isn't ready for release yet, but anyone with some C++ skills would be welcome to help develop it. It's for a project that will be finished mid-March.
