Due to license problems regarding ActivePerl which was included in the former Windows Installer we were forced to overwork the current installer package. This will be done in two steps (1) provide a workaround to enable you to have an installer file available (2) provide a stable release of a new designed Windows Installer based on an alternative Perl version. Stable Release: =============== Is planned to be released Nov-07-2008 Release: ======== The windows installer will be provided with OTRS 2.3.3. Limitations: ============ The workaround presented today entails some limitations, listed below: * ActivePerl was replaced by Strawberry Perl * The apache module mod_perl, that speeds up the exectution of Perl applications will not be avaliable (CGI mode only), which may cost some performance. * DBD::ODBC will also be not available yet. That means that an integration of databases using ODBC connections will not be possible with this installer version. * Additional CPAN modules, that might be needed to develop additional features based on perl, can not be installed.
