C++ tasks

There was a substantial bit of discussion about C++ compilation tasks back in June  (http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/mail10.html).  However, I didn't see that any of them had made it into the CVS or documentation.  Has there been any progress or are the tasks available somewhere else?
