I do not know if the following would be a proper/legal copyright header,
but if we have

  * Copyright (c) 2000-$Date$ The Apache Software Foundation.  All rights

CVS will take care of date substitution for us and we can afford to
forget having to make such changes manually ;-)  Of course the problem is
the copyright would then read:

  * Copyright (c) 2000-$Date: 2002/01/10 16:50:32  $ The Apache Software
Foundation.  All rights

which may not be appealing to others...  Anyway, please don't look at this
very seriously - it is just my code cruncher mind speaking out ;-)
