It is definitely worth taking a close look at and seeing whether or not such
a base functionality would be appropriate. I'm not a SCM wizard (just fairly
good at CVS and have used TeamWare/SCCS) so I'm really don't know. I'd be
interested in hearing what a SCM wiz came up with.
