Hi Lewis, I suspect because tgz/zip are attached and not main artifacts in the projects, so mvn manages them in that way... I need to investigate more anyway.
Keep in mind that things will change when performing a release, where all artifacts will be unique - they won't contain datetime/SNAPSHOT prefixes.
