I have two machines direct-connected each with an Intel gigabit NIC. Initiator:

They both have mtu 9000 although I have tried with 1500 with same results. No errors of any kind on any interface. So the problem would not seem to be my initiator server unless there is a problem with AoE module v64. I don't think it could be a layer 2 problem because I have no errors on any interfaces but I swapped out the ethernet cable just in case with no effect. It always gets a gigabit link. I am using hardware flow control and mtu 9000 on both ends of the link although I have tried it without flow control and mtu 1500. When I modprobe aoe on the initiator I see the usual in dmesg: aoe: AoE v64 initialised. aoe: e0.0: setting 8704 byte data frames aoe: 0030486678dc e0.0 v400a has 629145600 sectors etherd/e0.0: p1 Does it matter that I don't have a switch in here?
