The AoE protocol targets (vblade et al) turn AoE ATA read/write
requests into system read/write calls.  Ultimately yes, these get
translated into read/write calls for whatever technology is used to
access the backing storage (SAS/ATA/SCSI/etc) but there is no explicit
translation mechanism in vblade.
