I've tried many hosts, not hostgator though, even Amazon ec2 offerings
but it was too much me. Having the responsibility and control over my
whole environment was not as fun as i thought it would be.

Working in a server with industry standard implementations and stable
is really nice, less things to worry about, no need to worry about
maintenance. This is exactly what i found in WebFaction, i think their
service is unique. I wont lie, at first i was overwhelm and confused
with all the new info and their complex setup. But im now hooked, in
the best environment i've ever worked in.

But if you like the admin job and have't tried Amazon's ec2 you should
give it a try. They have a free first year tier, is an experience to
be have for sure.
