I downloaded the file, and it's 474Mb !  I'm not sure there is much
debugging to do, the main problem is that you don't have enough RAM. I
tried to compile it on my machine with 2Gb RAM, which isn't much and it
didn't manage it either.

The biggest dictionary we have in Apertium SVN is the Basque
one--something like 32Mb. 

You could try splitting the main part into, say, 100 separate sections
and see if that improves matters.
