Hi,
Python IS  a web scripting language. I am using it at some of
sites. My son is working with it at several sites.

It is very convenint that you can use the same code on the client
and the server for some applications.

BTW Python is much easier to learn than e.g. PHP.

Python could be a choice, yes. As you are planning to have a user
interface, you should consider the possibility of using some web
scripting language for the web interface so that the test can be
embedded.
