Aside from that 1-line patch, bitextor worked fine for me. I never
tried the rewritten version, because it didn't seem to have any extra
features.

If it takes some pressure off someone else, I wouldn't mind doing
that. I know I also had some extra models for language identification.

Sure, it's an interesting tool, and there's plenty of scope for an
interested student to try different distance metrics. I had been
interested in adding Adam Radziszewski's SRX library, for sentence
splitting.
