Quite a few language pairs are not supported in the webservice. I really think that it is quite an important thing to be able to use any released language pair, offline, in the app. Translation apps really come into their own when you are travelling --- especially with the cool OCR feature! --- and the chance of having a data connection is much lower in this case.
