Just to make it clear, our policy, as I understand it, is
(1) as a general rule all code derived from Apertium code or endorsed in
some way by the Apertium project has to be free/open-source and ideally GPL
(2) all software released from Apertium through stores should have a
cost of €0,00 (as is the case of Apertium for Android) and clear
information on how to get the sources

And then a personal opinion:

I am fine with someone working on a free/open-source iOS application for
Apertium, but I'd rather support open or "open-sourcey" systems such as
Android or Mozilla OS or Ubuntu OS than supporting
I-am-proud-of-being-proprietary platfroms such as "wind-oze" or "eye-oze".
