OK, I just tried it because apertium-en-fr stopped working.

That was just a test because other pairs were not working, but now, I have this 
error :
configure: error: AP_CHECK_LING not defined, is apertium.m4 in ACLOCAL_PATH?

PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
ACLOCAL_PATH=/usr/local/share/aclocal

(after correcting PKG_CONFIG_PATH which was obsolete and adding ACLOCAL_PATH).
