I don't get this when I try autogen.sh in those pairs.

Also, I get zero hits for

$ cd apertium-svnroot
$ grep -r MK_INCLUDE */apertium-en-fr */apertium-fra-por

Could you run autogen.sh again and paste config.log somewhere?

incubator/apertium-fra-eng has always used hfst (see svn log -v).

You could use incubator/apertium-en-fr instead.

This was an error in the makefile, fixed now.
