If I recall correctly, macports installs stuff to /opt/local; while an
SVN checkout will install to /usr/local.

The macports version of vislcg3 is still *very* out of date. I
originally contributed it 6 years ago when I used a Mac; then 3 years
ago Tino offered to take over maintenance, but it seems his patches were
never accepted: https://trac.macports.org/ticket/37773
