Great! I solved some of the testvoc issues in cat->arg. On the other 
hand, I realized that all nouns in the bidix, have the genus tag, which 
is <s n="m"/> in noun paradigms that can have feminine forms:
<e><p><l>fillo<s n="n"/><s n="m"/></l><r>fill<s n="n"/><s 
n="m"/></r></p></e>
  This makes it to analyze only the masculine forms:
$ echo "los fillos y las fillas" | apertium -d nursery/apertium-arg-cat/ 
arg-cat
els fills i les *fillas

Could this be solved automatically? (take out genus tags for nouns in 
paradigms with m and f forms). If not, it is probably easier to take out 
those labels, and then fix all the entries with discordant genus.
