Sorry for such a late reply!

Adding Balearic support to the es-ca pair (or even better, to the
apertium-cat monolingual dix) would be great.

As far as I know, those changes will be mainly verb paradigms in the
monolingual dictionary and some lexical selection at bilingual level (for
example, to pick "al·lot" instead of "noi"), right?

I'm not familiar with how a "new variant" gets created (the steps needed to
create the scripts to generate them, etc), but it shouldn't be hard to do
it.

I have a pending conversation with some of the initial/main contributors to
the es-ca package, and I'll try to come with a plan for you to integrate
your changes into the es-ca package.
