Dear PMC, dear developers:

There has recently been some debate in our list as to whether we should augment the information passed along the Apertium pipeline, and how.

We believe the issue is hard to discuss via e-mail threads.

We have decided that it is very convenient to organize a workshop, which would comprise two separate two-hour discussions online using a tool such as Google Meet. The Universitat d'Alacant has a corporate account; Mikel will provide the link(s) later.

These discussions would be primed by short (10-slide, 10-minute) presentations by proponents and opponents of changes during the first two-hour segment.

The second segment will try to come with one or more clear proposals to the PMC, who might then call an Assembly of Committers to vote on them.

It would be great if someone who can consider themselves neutral could act as a moderator.

The date and time of the sessions will be fixed so that it is convenient for most of us, and particularly for key people (PMC, main proponents and opponents). To that effect, we have set up a Doodle poll. Please mark your preferences: https://doodle.com/poll/7fr2z5c5fzruayqs . Please do so *before June 22/at 23:59 UTC./*

Also, please sign up here if you plan to attend. Those of you who plan to present a max-10-slide, max-10-minute position paper, please give a title and a quick summary: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1tqs1bcWdBLDCRhZOLZ7T_xn5_DJdzxL2RrbMvi2RQm8/edit .

Thank you very much!

All the best,

Francis Tyers, president
Mikel L. Forcada, treasurer
