No idea what is amusing about it...
Even though my question was directed towards the official organizer
If it was directed to the official organiser and not an attempt to stir the
proverbial pot, you would have emailed the official email addresses on the
conference website.
it appears that all of you are collaborating
I cannot speak for Karl or Simon so this is regarding myself. I monitor the
mailing list for anything that comes through that is simply wrong or misleading
and respond accordingly.
Is it APNIC's protocol to have multiple individuals reply in order to avoid PR
issues?
We do not reply to questions asked on behalf of or in representation of the
Secretariat, the EC, or APNIC as a whole. We are individuals who do our
research, read publicly-available information and respond accordingly to those
who share incorrect info. In Simon's case, he is an independent observer and
respected journalist in the IT community.

Christopher Hawker

Amazon gift card Campaign

By the way, Karl , Simon and Christopher,

I've noticed a pattern here, and it's quite amusing. It seems that all three of
you—Karl, Christopher, and Simon—are responding simultaneously.

Even though my question was directed towards the official organizer, it appears
that all of you are collaborating.

issues?

I'm genuinely curious about this dynamic.

Best regards,

Hi Christopher,

You are absolutely right. I haven't come across any official communication thus
far. Is there any chance that a staff member from APNIC could provide
assistance and shed some light on the matter?

I'm simply intrigued by the reward, as it does appear quite appealing.

Thank you,

I've been at the conference for the duration and never heard of this so I would
say not. As I've not seen any official communications it'd be a safe bet to say
that it's not authorised or approved.

Subject: [apnic-talk] Query Regarding "Catch me if you can" #SnapAndWin Amazon
gift card Campaign

Hi

I hope this email finds you well. I recently came across a post on Twitter
promoting the #SnapAndWin campaign with the hashtags #apricot2024.

The post encourages participants to snap a picture with a specified car, tweet
it and win a $10 Amazon gift card USD.

I would like to inquire whether this campaign is an official Apricot 2024 event
? Additionally, as I am attending the event online, I am interested in knowing
if online participants can also join this campaign and be eligible for the
mentioned rewards.

Your clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for
your time and assistance.

Best regards,
