Have you seen Konqueror in Kubuntu Dapper? it's very simple and usable, with 
the menus very well organized and simplified. I like it. Anyway it still has 
some "bugs" of Konqueror like the sidebar containing "amarok", "KDE FTP 
sites", "services" and so, that shouldn't exist IMHO.

I've tried to do a konqueror mockup with a simpler design, maybe you like it, 
or you could give your opinion:
