I had a similar problem last night, but with all my apps, not just Todo. After never experiencing more than the occasional individual app crash, suddenly none of my apps would open, no matter what I tried.
I too didn't want to do a full reset, because the way my work e-mail is set up I didn't think I'd ever be able to figure it out again. I did not have a full back up of my phone because I find iTunes kind of hard to use. What worked, after several tries, is this. I deleted all the apps from my phone (64 of them!). Then I rebooted my phone (holding home and top buttons until apple logo comes up). This reboot in-between seemed necessary to make the iphone recognize that the apps had been deleted. I then installed the apps again via iTunes. Some of them I had to download again manually, since iTunes didn't have a full list of what I had on my phone. However, it recognized all the apps that I have paid for and downloaded them for free. After this I did a reboot again. Then I held my breath and tried Todo. It worked! Thank heavens for the sync with Toodledo! Even though I've only had Todo for a few days, it was already filling up! I hope something works for you.
