You are correct.  Switching sync services will delete all the data stored in
Todo on your iPod Touch or iPhone.  We do this in order to simplify the
syncing process.  This helps significantly in making the syncing process
flawless and simple.

Unfortunately, Appigo Sync cannot read the iTunes backup, so this is not
possible.

Yes, this will provide you with a backup and a means to export your data to
iCal.  You can learn how to transfer your tasks from Toodledo.com to iCal at

Most people have had very few problems with the new sync procedure.  It is
of course in a beta version, but so far most people have had a good
experience.
