Sorry, that was probably worded poorly. Have you been syncing your tasks to Toodledo.com? The only time Todo will prompt to remove all of the tasks when switching sync services is if a sync service has already been set up.
It sounds like you just need to do a sync which will push all of your changes in Todo up to Toodledo and download any changes you've made on Toodledo to your system. Once you have done a sync, all of your data will be on the Toodledo website. At that point, you can export the data from the Toodledo site and the import the tasks into iCal. We've documented how to do that here: http://www.appigo.com/appigo-sync/faqs/switching/moving-from-toodledo The point of doing the final sync to Toodledo is now when you go into Todo to switch sync services to use Appigo Sync, it will prompt you to confirm the switch letting you know all of the data in Todo will be removed in order to prepare to sync with Appigo sync on the Desktop. With your tasks moved from Toodledo to Appigo Sync, you'll be able to sync them back into Todo from iCal once you have Todo authorized to sync with Appigo Sync. One warning, iCal does not have the ability to handle Contexts and tags. Your tasks will come over with their notes, but the assigned lists, Contexts, and tags will not be. You can set those up in Todo and Appigo Sync will preserve and back them up, but you won't have access to see or modify them in iCal. Let us know if you have any other questions about switching.
