Douglas, The limitation on Todo Lite is seven total tasks. So if you complete a task, it still exists although depending on your settings you may not be able to see it. If you delete the tasks (swipe delete them or go into the task details and select delete), you'll be able to create and sync more tasks.
There is also a little trick you can use if synchronizing to help out with the limitation. If you go into Todo Settings (select the little gears in the bottom right hand corner) and select Synchronization, under the Completed Tasks section you can set how long to keep completed tasks.
