I'm going to chime in here and echo the request for a fixed setting that would ensure that Todo *always* syncs ONLY to the Mac. I just had to re-pair my iPod with the laptop and when I synched, it scrambled the order of the tasks in Todo on the IPT and resurrected a bunch that I had already marked as completed!
Arrgghh!! I'm sure that what AS did was to think, "Hey, here are some tasks in iCal that don't show up on the IPT, I'll bring them over." Well, sorry, but for those of us who use the i-devices for entering our tasks, that's not what we want! There's something kerflooey with the synching logic, too. Those were old tasks. The IPT should take precedence with completed tasks by date... they were created on the IPT, marked on the IPT, and nothing was done to them in iCal! *So why would they trump the IPT's tasks??* It'd be great to have a pref setting that would ensure one-way sync TO the Mac and ONLY that. (One could override it manually, in the rare occasions that some of us would like to manually bring a new todo over.) It should NOT be something that one has to select each time, e.g., such as doing an advanced sync. (Those don't help, in any event, as the only choices there are FULL and RESET, neither of which is advisable! A "permanent" setting to do one-way synching, not buried and certainly not mixed in with those other choices, which can produce disasters, would be good-- really good.) Right now, I hold my breath every time I sync!
