This week I tried some very light weight quarter-inch open mesh plastic net bags that Amazon.com calls “Yellow net bags” or something like that. They don’t catch wind, and might be useful if they could be bought in larger size that could be pulled down over the whole tree. Mine are about 10 x 20 inches when flat. On single one-year-old branches that are making lateral shoots, they crowd the leaves over each other, limiting photosynthesis and bending shoot growth. I’ve not found a source of large bags.
