Bruce We bought some posts that had been in the ground about 2 or 3 years and reused them probably 15 years ago. Snice then we have had to replace about a third of them. The used posts started to fail after about 4 years in the ground. They did not all fail at once, but we noticed them while pruning over a few years. I think that if the posts were reversed (the end that was in the ground is up)they would be okay to use. I do not remember how we planted the posts. Others may have differing opinions. These posts were set with an auger both times. Richard Tanner Tanners Orchard, Ltd Speer, IL

I have a small block of trees that I may need to remove after this season. I hope to re-wind and re-use the wire, but am unsure if the poles will maintain enough integrity having already been pounded in -- and then go through being pulled out. Posts are expensive, but not nearly as expensive as the lesson of learning that "used" posts might give up on me when I get my first real crop on new trees... Thanks!
