If I remember correctly the Middlesex,Lambton growers are girdling the trees
3 weeks after bloom to trigger fruit buds and then again the next year.
girdling at least two thirds or three/quarters of the trunk about a foot off
the ground.. All reports are good.they will start even on 3 year old trees

Would someone care to divulge a recipe for getting slow-to-bear varieties
into production sooner.  I have Northern Spy in mind using Ethrel or NAA or
combinations.  Apogee perhaps.  Other techniques?
