Why not concentrate on raising good quality apples from the ones we have now ... and on incorporating new varieties and improvements in management for everything we grow? That's what consumers ask of us, whether we grow apples, peaches, pumpkins, or sweet corn ... or produce a wide range of other products. New varieties with desirable traits are good for the industry.
