Sure, Apple made and sold millions of enhanced APPLE IIE machines.  If it is Platinum, 
it is enhanced. Open the computer and check the motherboards.  The Platinum enhanced 
have fewer chips, and I'd have to go out and check, but virtually all the chips in a 
Platinum cannot be replaced with out desoldering.
