That's right. Here's a pic:

I know that a 9-inch monitor may have limited practical utility, but
personally...I really like the way that that configuration looks. <gives
"thumbs up" sign>

>From what I can tell, the IIC was nicknamed "ET" because of the way the
monitor looked on its custom stand. If you're as
nostalgia-bound/anal-retentive as I am, you may want to get one of these
monitor/stand combinations...just for the sake of having one.

While I can't tell you where to go for the monitor (post a "WTB" on this
list maybe?), there's a firm in Southern Calif. that sells the monitor
stands for cheap (like, $5 for used ones):

(Look under "Video Cards & Monitors")

He's also got the stands new-in-box. When I last mailed him (October '04)
he had these for $12 + shipping. While getting these stands NIB *is* pretty
rare, I just couldn't bring myself to pay $12 for a monitor stand when I got
the CPU itself for, like, $20. These stands are metal, too, so you'll need
to pay close attention to shipping to avoid spending more than you
originally intended.

Regardless of where you get the stand, be sure to verify that the one you're
getting has the screw that joins the stand to the monitor. A lot of stands
seem to be missing that.

If you were really desperate for the monitor, he has that, too, but it seems
to be in an "unpriced hardware" section. Why this hardware isn't priced, I
can only guess:

Caveat: You may notice that some of his pricing is, um, <fumbles for right
word> fantasy-based. F'rinstance, the LaserWriter IIG mobo on his
"unpriced" page was...$199 (as in, "nearly two hundred dollars") If you're
willing to pay that for a IIG mobo, come see me after class.

That being said, he does have some pretty neat stuff. He has a power supply
for the IIC ($18) and a 2400 baud modem, too ($10). As usual, whenever
you're shopping for vintage hardware, it's a good idea not only to know what
you're willing to pay, but what the "going rate" is, too.

Best,

James Fraser
