The earlier serial number Apple //c's did not support the 3.5 unidisk. There was a rom upgrade that was dealer installed as I have done a lot of these upgrades to the Apple //c. The dealer was supposed to install a sticker on the top of the //c case after the upgrade. I own several upgraded Apple //c's and unidisks and they all work fine with Prodos.
