I actually have 2 of these upgraded //e-//GS machines (1 Apple upgraded, 1 hack-project).

The original GS Upgrade kit used a ROM 0 GS logic board. Some of the last ones produced used a ROM 1 board, so there are some ROM 1 board floating around that have the //e power connector in place.

1 of the machines I have was built using a standard platinum (last rev) //e and a ROM 1 GS board. The back panel was just dremel'ed out to allow the ports to come through. I didn't have access to the correct bottom pan for the upgrade...

I think it is a hobby project, so it doesn't have to make sense.
;) I tried doing this a few years back simply because I had a dead
IIe.

Of course, how many of us actually use our Apple //'s for day-to-day work any more? (I do in a way for one of my jobs--I'm the Township Clerk and I take our monthly minutes using Deja][ on a Mac powerbook. I then transfer the AppleWorks files to my //e, clean them up using AW5.1, and print them off from there. :)
