: Would you mind giving a quick tutorial on the
: above please Bill, ie on the different IIc models
: and the relevance of the model number?
: Regards, John

The original //c model A2S4000 ROM $FF has
only Disk ][ capability, and no ram expansion
port. Those can be upgraded to 3.5" UniDisk
capability and only accept the Ultra Z-ram
expansion boards. These would be considered
most likely to be the most abundant of the //c
family. The ROM to upgrade these would be $00.

The A2S4100 came with Unidisk 3.5 capability,
and also Ram expansion ports included on the
motherboards. These are ROM $03, and later
had an upgrade ROM $04, which fixed a bug in
DOS 3.3 usage.

The last revision, which is actually an entirely
different animal altogether is the A2S4500, or
better known as the //c Plus, has a 3.5" drive
built into the case, an 4 MHz acceleration circuit,
and memory expansion.
