IIRC, there was an external version of the Mockinboard for the //c, it
connected to the serial port(?), maybe.

I'm intrigued by the thought of a combo MP3 decoder/stereo sound card
for the IIgs. I have always been interested in adding stereo
capability to my IIgs, but I'd definitely hold out getting such a
device if I knew a card capable of MP3 playback was on the way.

On a sound card note, do you know if there will be a clone available of
the Mockingboard revision that worked on a //c? I'd be interested in
getting something like that for my //c+. I only ask because you
mentioned Mockingboard clones will be out soon. Though I acknowledge
this is a remote possibility. :)

Well, it's true that ProDOS 8 programs won't run from an HFS partition.
You simply get an error message instructing you to move the program to
a ProDOS partition to run if you try to launch one from the Finder. It
won't crash your system or anything. But I've found most of the ProDOS
8 programs that won't run from HFS won't run from a hard drive to begin
with anyway, HFS or not. ProDOS 16 / GS/OS programs run flawlessly.

As for breakdown, I haven't had any yet. But I'm curious about this.
Does anyone have more information on this? What kind of breakdown? And
what initiates it? Has anyone experienced this firsthand?
