I remember the Applied Eng. device (same as the PlusCard?) which had a rechargable gel battery that sat outside the computer. Major league 15 years ago. :)

Only in the fact that it's flash memory--the battery backup keeps the info available all the time for an "instant-on" computer, right? The CFFA/microdrive setups still have to go thru a standard setup sequence--faster than a hard drive, but I'd love to see the time difference between one of those and a PlusCard. :)
