--- Begin Message ---Hi, Thanks for your bug report and sorry that it was not attended during all of this time. I don't know what might have caused that behaviour both in aptitude and synaptic at the same time, but certainly it doesn't seem like it was widespread behaviour that kept happening from time to time, otherwise many people would have noticed. Both aptitude and synaptic use libapt as common libraries and very little else apart from libc and libstdc++, for example synaptic doesn't use boost. A problem with libapt at that specific point in time is certainly a possibility (specially since you were using unstable). The changelog 0.6.3-3.1 indicates that there were problems with apt 0.8. It is also possible that it was indeed a problem with aptitude at that time, fixed without triaging or closing this bug report. In any case, unless more information is provided (like confirmation that it still happens from you from time to time), it is not possible to try to track it down, so I think that it is better to close this bug report. But please reopen it if you can provide more information, even if it's only that you experienced this problem other times. Cheers. -- Manuel A. Fernandez Montecelo <[email protected]>
