My autoexec.bat looks the same, except I don't have my "start.bat" (= your 
"normal.bat") in the root directory.  It is in a separate, hidden directory 
and is set as "read only".

Any changes that a program makes to my autoexec.bat file will be readily 
apparent (and equally easy to remove).
