Now that we know there are versions of HIMEM.SYS that take up less disk space and/or memory, does anyone have a clue whether the later and larger versions of the software actually manage memory better? In theory, the extra bytes are not there for nothing, although I would not bet on this since we are dealing with Miscrosoft. I would love to use an equivalent program that really does the same thing but uses less memory.
