Hello all who are trying to help me.
First of all Thank you.
My monitor seems to be a hard nut to crack. The IBM Tech Spec on their
support page says: Video Controllers supported: XGA-2, Image-I Adapter/A
(requires cable P/N 49G2718). In Windows98 are a XGA-2 and a XGA driver
but I can not use them because my videocard does not fit to them. And I
don't need them because it's for Win. But I assume that my monitor does
not have the image-I cable.

I tried an UnivesaVBE 5.1. It is an elder version of DisplayDoctor. I did
not manage to get a positive influence on Arachne. It seems it should be
SciTechDisplayDoctor 6.51. But don't rely on my computer knowledge.

Does anybody know how I can contact Jorge Ortega. He reported from an
Univesa adapter that worked and did not disturb Arachne. Yahoo says his
Email adress is not known there.
