Hello,
today I had a strange experience. I connected my small multisync monitor
with the newer P133 computer and started Arachne out of curiosity in the
Dos box of Win98.. and it worked! I could download my mail and look into
chat. Then I closed Win down and clicked "restart in Dos mode". Then
enterd again "a" <enter>. Again the "PPP link is down". After finishing
Arachne to the Dos prompt I entered Win, went to the Dos box and "a"
<enter> brought Arachne. I composed a mail clicked "send mail now" then
"dial now" Arachne dialled up to "PPP lik is down". No way to get a
connection. After dinner I tried again: Dos box "a" <enter> "alt+D".
After the noises of the modem came the homepage and everything worked.
Then I composed a mail after "alt+H"....."PPP link is dowm". Then I
clicked homepage and "dial now" ...perfect function.

Could there be a bug in this version of "Arachne for Pentium" which
forces to go first to the homepage before you can do all else? The
version for 486 never showed this behavior?

This may shed a completely new light on the DisplayDoctor. I am not
certain now how Arachne will work with the Dos without starting Windows.

Sorry but this seems complicated to me.
