PPP link down

I have Arachne on four machines. It works fine on two of them and
doesn't work on the other two. Dial-up and connection to my ISP is
normal, ID and password are accepted. When I enter F7 the PPP link goes
down. No IP address shows up in the PPP log. Can't see any difference in
the configuration files. Any Ideas?
