Neil.......others have replied as to why it needs to be the way it is
so I won't rehash....but...what to do about it, and how to use it...
Michael P. gave a hint in his little blurb in the "LINKS" folder....
....and some others have hinted at it also...
1...make a little .BAT file, that saves History.lst into a chain of
HIST01,. HIST02, HIST03, HISTxx, etc....then deletes History.lst
2...shell out (ALT-E) and run the .BAT every-so-often, and that will
clean it out for you....Arachne will regenerate a fresh, new,
empty list for you automaticaly...
3...when you have time, edit those old HISTxx files, removing duplicates
and maybe even sorting them alphanumerically, and even arrange
them into catagories...
4...then send the edited list to yourself....as an email...
5...when it comes back from your mailserver, store it in "LINKS" folder
and you have all those "nifty" links ready to launch, instead of
kicking yourself all around the room and through the yard, because
you lost that link "you just gotta have"..........<g g g>
...........gregy
