L.D.,
The "no buttons" item rings a bell, but I have misplaced the
posts (well, lost it) on it. It's happened before to someone
on the list, maybe someone who keeps printed copies of the
"keeper" posts will have something useful on it.

Now for the fun part:
I presume that this is a tamed-down and "for off-road use only"
installation of WIN 3.1<g>.
We all have one of those in the closet somewhere.<vbg>

Seriously though, Most older computers let you make backup copies
of DOS and WIN 3.1, otherwise I would not have them at all to use
now. My DOS 6.21 backups let me format HDD's and get them ready for
Arachne installations.
The WIN 98 machines that are being sold now won't do any of that,
and if the original owner loses the CDROM, then a subsequent owner
of the computer is out of luck making any changes. I had that
happen on a network WIN95 HDD, and couldn't get TCP/IP for it
without the CDROM, so had to send it to the "format room".<g>
