The disk-trasher (as I prefer to call it) doublespace isn't built in, it's
a seperate program. If the user wants to he/she can install it (and not
uninstall IIRC). The program works (more or less), but it slows down the PC
way to much to use.
The only downside to 6.2x (not 6.0? - same memmory leak again) is that
chkdsk keeps bothering when run outside a BATch file about Scandisk. IMNSHO
Scandisk is much more "deadly" to the computers HD then any virus.
So first thing I add when I reinstall W95 is to dissable scandisk running
when Windows crashes. (autoscan=0 in msdos.sys)
I think we have seen some user(s?) on this and the SurvPC list having big
troubles with their computers after using double space (in time they all do).
Now if we want to be able to keep the non-digest option perhaps we should
move these OT things to a list where they are on topic (such as SurvPC)?
