If you mean the bug on page with <TD BACKGROUND=""> - well, that one
was easy!

But I was not able to even reproduce another memory eating bug,
reported by Clarence Verge, so how could I fix it ?

Sorry, I forgot about this... ;-)

It won't write them ?

> What was the purpose of these files ??

Very little purpose - only to provide you with HTTP header when you
hit '=' key on any object originated from http: protocol.

Moving them to separate subdirectory have increased speed of reload
from cache; if you disable them completely, Arachne will simply run
faster.

I don't know what do you mean by "32KB" - 32 kbps ?

HTTP headers are being downloaded anyway - on very slow PCs without
write beind disk caching, storing they may slow down page downloading.

In fact, I am not sure how it *should* look like. And it will be
probably anyway available only as APM (as well as the "serious" buttons
- I need to save space in main Arachne package...)

> PPS: It seems really a bit faster.

It IS really a bit faster - Slashdot from disk is ~4 sec with 1.61,
and ~5 with 1.660

It will be fixed in 1.62 ... ;)
